The CRC is excited to co-chair three sessions at the International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS) 2026 meeting in New Zealand (July 19-24, 2026)!

All of our sessions are in Session 8. Innovations in reef conservation and intervention!

  1. Innovative Coral Restoration in the Pacific Islands (sub-theme: systems)

🏝️Pacific Island communities are pioneering innovative coral restoration approaches that blend local and Indigenous knowledge with climate-resilient techniques, this session amplifies regional practitioners' voices to share community-led solutions and foster collaboration in addressing the distinct challenges of island reef restoration.

  1. From pilot to planet: Advancements in coral restoration tools and technologies that promote scalability, resilience, and equity (sub-theme: technology)

📱This session showcases cutting-edge tools, practices, and interdisciplinary approaches—from novel engineering and materials science to community-engaged frameworks—that are redefining scalable, equitable reef restoration for a changing climate.

  1. Integrating genomics and quantitative genetics to advance conservation, restoration, and resilience forecasting (sub-theme: biotechnology)

🧬This session explores how evolutionary biology, genomics, and restoration science can work together to help reef-building corals survive and recover in rapidly changing oceans.

We are excited to see all of our coral friends, family, and partners there!
